DENARASE® High Salt
Unmatched performance
at elevated salt concentrations
DENARASE® High Salt
DENARASE® High Salt is an engineered version of the standard DENARASE® endonuclease with only a few amino acids substitutions to enable improved salt tolerance.
Compared to the wild-type enzyme, DENARASE® High Salt is more tolerant to elevated salt concentrations and a broader pH spectrum and so offers a greater flexibility in bioprocessing.
Why High Salt?
Salt concentrations between 200 mM and 400 mM can improve the solubility of viral vectors and impurities and thereby reduce the formation of aggregates. In addition, non-aggregated DNA is more accessible for endonucleases, which further contributes to a more efficient process.
Why choose DENARASE® High Salt?
DENARASE® High Salt is designed to retain activity at elevated salt concentrations. It shows high activity over a broad spectrum of salt and pH conditions that are commonly applied in viral vector processes. These features enable a lean process design and a seamless integration into existing processes.
By using DENARASE® High Salt, you can avoid processing steps that are only required to increase endonuclease activity, such as ultrafiltration, non-essential salt additions or pH adjustments. Less processing steps normally result in higher manufacturing efficiency and product yield. At scale, less equipment, footprint and buffer addition will be required.

Best performance from low to high salt!
The optimal processing conditions differ per viral vector type. With the addition of DENARASE® High Salt to our DNA removal toolkit, you can now pick the most efficient DENARASE® enzyme for your application. At low to physiological salt conditions the standard DENARASE® exhibits unmatched performance and continues to be the most economical solution. For processes that benefit from salt addition, DENARASE® High Salt is the most flexible and cost-efficient choice.

Engineered innovation that adapts to your process!
Compared to other salt-active nucleases (SAN), the DNA clearance activity of DENARASE® High Salt remains the highest over a broader salt concentration range. Especially at commonly applied pH levels (pH 7.4), DENARASE® High Salt outperforms other commercially available salt tolerant endonucleases.
Avoid additional salt & pH adjustments!
No additional salt is required for enzyme activity of DENARASE® High Salt. Use your full bioreactor capacity – instead of reserving space for buffer and salt additions.
