Enzymatic DNA Removal in Bioprocessing
DENARASE® is a genetically engineered endonuclease from Serratia marcescens used as a DNA eraser in purification processes of biological molecules. The enzyme cleaves all forms of DNA and RNA into smaller nucleotides of around 3-5 base pairs.
The enzyme is active in a broad range of conditions and is free of proteolytic activity. This makes the enzyme especially useful for applications with challenging DNA contents such as lysed host cells in viral vector manufacturing processes.
Because of its high efficacy, enzymatic digestion is a preferred
method for reducing DNA levels well below the limits for biologicals set
by the authorities.
The patented production process uses a Bacillus sp.
production host. The gram-positive, endotoxin-free strain is highly
productive and mitigates the risk of endotoxins in the final product.
DENARASE® has a purity of ≥ 99 % and is manufactured in full compliance
with GMP requirements using only raw materials of non-animal origin and
without the use of antibiotics
DENARASE® is used especially in the field of:
- Gene Therapy manufacturing
- Cell Therapy manufacturing
- Viral Vector purification
- Vaccine production
